FAQ (Updated Often!)
"How do you play Audiball?"
Audiball is designed for play with a guitar controller. Every time you strum, you either launch a ball or trigger a sound with a ball inside. The goal of the game is to get all the balls from
the launch area to the end of the track, marked by the spinning vortex. Levels are not linear. How you use the sounds in the track to get the balls to the goal is up to you.
"What are all the little timers for?"
When an audiball enters a sound, a timer appears letting you know how long you have before the audiball will pass through it. You can trigger the sound by holding the corresponding fret and strumming, shooting the ball in the sound's direction, but there is no penalty for letting it pass through.
"Why do some of the sounds turn gray?"
If you try to trigger a sound when there is no audiball inside any sounds of that sound set (color), you'll stall the every sound in the set. Audiballs won't get caught inside stalled sounds. But this isn't always a bad thing: you may strategically stall one sound set so balls can quickly pass through to different one.
"How did you get Microsoft to let you publish a game?"
Unlike Xbox Live Arcade, it's easy for anyone to become a developer for Xbox Community Games. All you need is an idea and a lot of time. Head over to www.xna.com for information.
"This looks/sounds a lot like Everyday Shooter."
Everyday Shooter is a remarkable game, and frankly it's flattering to see that people are making the comparison. To clarify, though, Audiball and Everyday Shooter might do similar things with sound, but they're completely different games in every other respect. To say that we didn't borrow any inspriation from it would be absurd, but we always give credit where credit is due and Jonathan Mak has already been included in our Special Thanks section. We're trying to answer his hopes that his game would inspire someone else to make something great.
